hey you, up in the sky

    http://www.urbansketchers.com/ 2008/ 11/ hey-you-up-in-sky.html

And so my last ones from New York City, with my favourite buildings. I loved how the Empire State seemed to change dramatic shades of blue or silver in the drifting sunlight. Drew the Chrysler from the steps of the NY Public Library - always reminds me of that library cop, Bookman, in Seinfeld.

    The Dream Hunters

    http://neverneutral.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 11/ 22/ the-dream-hunters/

Last week I picked up The Dream Hunters #1. It’s actually pretty good. I often feel like comic book publishers take advantage of the collector’s chronic nostalgia… but it felt really nice to buy a new Sandman single issue… ah, the fragility of the book as you carry it with two fingers around the comics

    Jim Bradshaw’s Indiscriminative Doodling

    http://www.doodlage.com/ ?p=295

It seems Jim Bradshaw draws on anything and everything. He doesn’t discriminate between his fancy Moleskine, piece of cardboard or an old Zip Disk (remember those? ;)). And to tell you the truth, I don’t give a flying pig, what he doodles on… they’re all absolutely spectacular, let me tell yah:

    Sexual Politics

    http://neverneutral.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 11/ 21/ sexual-politics/

The conversation down there is getting good. All we need is some red wine and cheese ;) — Although there is no biological reason why the two central functions of the family (socialisation and reproduction) need be inseparable from or even take place within it, revolutionary or utopian efforts to remove

Field Notes - Acid-free and Round Corners

    http://moleskine.vox.com/ library/ post/ field-notes---acid-free-and-round-corne…

More than a year ago I contacted Field Notes for wholesale pricing so that I could start selling them in our stores.  Somehow communication broke down and I never received a sample.  There are a lot of good reviews out there but without being able to touch and test it I refrained from selling it in our stores on blind faith.

right through the very heart of it

    http://petescully.com/ 2008/ 11/ 19/ right-through-the-very-heart-of-it/

The final bit of urban sketching done in New York (I also took a lot of photos for reference drawing later, but you can’t beat being there on the streets tasting the air). Here I am just off Washington Square, looking up Fifth, indeniably NYC in November. I never went up the Empire State.
