CDBurnerXP 4.2.3.1062 and fan shop (written by Flo)

Hi everyone,

I new version of CDBurnerXP has just been released. This release fixes a problem with the updater, which didn't find new versions of CDBurnerXP anymore.
Apart from bug fixes, there are also two interesting features: CDBurnerXP now has an option (enabled by default) to cache files from removable media. This makes it possible to create data compilations from multiple media like memory cards and discs without having to cache their files manually. Also, CDBurnerXP now has a propery dialog for items in data compilations which allows you to set the "hidden" flag for files and folders, as well as the date. Last but not least, CDBurnerXP allows you to burn BWF, AIFF and MP2 files to audio discs now.

Furthermore, I installed a new shop: http://www.cafepress.com/cdburnerxp
Amazon shops didn't work very well here (virtually no income compared to the Google ads), so we're trying this now. If you want to support us, feel free to purchase some items. In the future, I also consider offering a CDBurnerXP disc there (with case and booklet), or maybe a printed manual, we will see :)

Introducing: Ketarin (written by Flo)

Hi all,

I always keep a compilation of the latest setup packages of my favourite software.
However, it is quite a lot of work to keep track of such updates. I searched for a tool to help me with that, but since I couldn't find one (only tools which were meant to keep my system up to date instead of just downloading the stuff), I decided to come up with something myself.
I'm now done and quite pleased with the result. I'll call this application "Ketarin", and you may download it (as well as the source code) from the website.
Screenshots and instructions are available.

I usually put the setups on an USB stick, but it my as well serve as a complement to CDBurnerXP if you burn these files to CD or DVD. Some feedback is appreciated :)

Regards,
Flo

Back online! (written by Flo)

Hi everyone,

we are back online. Due to time constraints, it took somewhat longer than intended to fix the broken hard drive. However, all data should have been restored successfully, and we have also taken measues to prevent such downtimes in the future. Thanks for your patience and sorry for the inconveniences our downtime has caused. If everything goes well, also expect a new release (or possibly two) today.

Update: Version 4.2.1.976 has now been released.

Flo

CDBurnerXP 4.2.1.919 (written by Flo)

I've just released a new version of CDBurnerXP. There are primarily bug fixes in this release, but we also got a localised installer. It has not yet been translated to all languages though.

The past releases had problems especially with burning MP3 files as audio disc, this release should put an end to them. However, I could only add a workaround, with the downside that all MP3 files go through some preprocessing which will take somewhat longer than before. The real solution is yet to be delivered by Numedia Soft (who are the developers of the burning library).
