Who put the ram in Obama-rama-ding-dong?

Your humble correspondent's mid-afternoon solitude was interrupted today by the first Obama volunteer of the season. Like a wayward locust presaging the approaching swarm of November pestilence that he represents, the scrawny would-be '48-er traversed my lawn in oblivious dereliction of the "No Third Term" placard festooned along the hedge line and rang the door to spread his message of audacious hope and change.

Mildly amused, your writer chose to humor El Che-in-waiting and permitted approximately 37 seconds of empty platitudes, not unlike the gaseous emissions of his patron's stump address. It was time to bring closure to the exchange.

"Just stop. I don't wish to be bothered further with a sales pitch, so I'll give you a chance to answer me a single question."

"Uh...uhm...ah...okay?"

"Would you be so kind as to provide me with a reason - one single reason, and I mean any reason of your choice - why I should ever consider extending my vote to Obama. And before you speak, consider that I wish to know how Obama's election could ever benefit my life."

"Uh...okay...well...uhm...Barack Obama will...you see...Obama will stop global warming, and that will benefit us all because it will save your life from global warming!"

Or so he responded with giddy glee stretched wide across his smile, anticipating a response that would meet his expectation that he had conquered the trial that was placed before him.

It was then that your correspondent forced an uncomfortable, pondering silence upon the trust fund revolutionary occupying the doorway. With measured breath and intentional hesitation a response was offered.

"Oh. Well, you see...I actually support global warming."

"Uh...suh...support? But how can you supp..."

"Yes. Support global warming. Thank you for your time though."

I don't know your income demographics, but Obama's tax plan would cut my family's income tax around $1,000 year, whereas McCain's tax plan keeps my taxes as they are. So for me, it's simple, my family does not make enough to save money with McCain's tax plan, but we do save with Obama.

Pretty Hilarious. I support your right to support global warming. What behooves me is that I inadvertently don't support Obama by supporting you.

Who would have known!

Logic kicks ass.
