"My partner and I were looking for hosts for our sites. I was increasing
the size and readership of my site, and my partner was starting his own site,
our sister site. We looked around for web hosting. We looked at several hosts.
My partner, who knows much more about the technology than I do, agreed to call
several places we were looking at to check them out. You know, he was going to
call and ask technical questions to see if the person who'd be hosting us knew
his stuff.
But we had agreed in advance on one thing: we wanted to be hosted on Macs. That
cut down on our search since there were fewer Mac hosts out there.

"Okay," said my partner.
I sat and waited. I waited for half an hour when the phone rang.
"So, what do you think?" My partner was almost speechless, not a common

I asked. I will never forget what he said.
"'steve.machighway.com' and 'othersteve.machighway.com'," was
the answer. Not only did they know their networking, they
were true Mac people. And that was enough for us. After
all, we had had enough of talking with support staff at
hosts who had no clue how to work with a Mac person. They
love the Mac, and that makes them a joy to work with as
a Mac user.
Since we have hosted at MacHighway our traffic has increased dramatically. True,
we have had a new design and have new writers. But the sheer speed of the servers
keeps people coming back. And our downtime has been virtually zero except for
a very brief time when they upgaded their network connection. And the security
of being hosted on a Mac helps us sleep at night, knowing we won't wake up to
any surprises.
