excerpts from Dr. Fuglie 's book on MORINGA: ...the typical synthetic multivitamin tablet is only about 10 percent absorbable by the body, while nutrients derived purely from plants
phytonutrients are close to 100 percent absorbable.
Hence, nature and plants like Moringa loaded with phytonutrients are making a comeback.

In the African context, Moringa is a very simple and readily available tool to help prevent malnutrition.
link Ghana
It is a drought-resistant and fast growing tree which is present in nearly all tropical and sub-tropical countries.
Its edible leaves are already a food source in West Africa regions and appear at the end of the dry season: a time when other greens are in short supply.
As a source of good nutrition, its leaves are considered the best of tropical legumes with its high quantities of vitamin A and significant quantities of
vitamin C, calcium, iron, protein,
potassium, magnesium, selenium, zinc and a good balance of
all the essential amino acids.
Also, the leaves can be easily dried into powder form for use as a nutritional supplement for sauces or as an addition to infant weaning foods.
Â
Moringa tastes slightly bitter but is generally well tolerated by children and adults alike.
It's an old axiom that in life we have to "take the bitter with the sweet." A recent study has shown that humans, as well as mammals, are well equipped to do just that.

Some amount tiredness sets in anytime I do some form manual job or excercise. I am hoping that having started using this herb I would soon find cure to my ailments.

Moringa Oleifera
Moringa properties and explanations
Description of Moringa Oleifera
Moringa's Origins
A fast-growing tree, Moringa can reach nine feet, just 10 months after the seed is planted. It tops out at about 36 feet. Deep roots allow Moringa to
thrive in its native,
drought-stricken African and Indian regions.
Moringa's traditional lore, taken largely from India's Ayurvedic medical texts, tells of treatments for more than 300
conditions, from fevers to anxiety to diarrhea.
Records of its use date as far back as 150 B.C.; it's known in 82 countries by 210 different names. Prevalent among these names is the
"Miracle Tree."
Its folkloric appeal has made Moringa the center of scientific studies, and findings from said
studies have made it the star performer in dozens of relief organizations' efforts against malnutrition.
Plants: Nature's Best Medicine
Moringa sits at the center of the Eastern health philosophy of prevention through nutrition.
The value of the holistic approach to curing and preventing health problems and disease
is twofold: it is less expensive than
pharmaceuticals, and side effects are almost nonexistent. The World Health Organization
estimates that 80 percent of the world's population relies on natural medicine for their primary
healthcare. Plants are readily available, affordable and trusted.
Skeptical? Consider this: most drugs prescribed today are modeled after or from plants
. In fact, science has always taken from Mother Nature's wisdom.
Aspirin, for instance, is made from the bark of the willow tree.
Since 1981, over 70 percent of anticancer and antibacterial drugs have been synthesized and patented based on research of naturally occurring
plants.
The West is beginning to meet the East. An increasing segment of the
United States%u201A population is looking to the natural world and trying to manage their health
through diet.
Now, this isn't to say that modern medicine
and scientific advances in the field of health are wrong or unnecessary, just that there is a trend
towards integrating natural, preventative measures
with scientific research and treatments. The Centers for Disease Control reports that five out of every 10 deaths are due to
poor diet, and that 35 percent of cancer deaths result from dietary risk factors.
In addition the typical synthetic multivitamin tablet is only about 10 percent absorbable by the body, while nutrients derived purely from plants (phytonutrients) are close to 100
percent absorbable. Hence, nature and plants like Moringa loaded with phytonutrients are making a comeback.
Moringa Uses in everyday life
Multiple applications of Moringa
2. Alley cropping : With their rapid growth, long taproot, few lateral roots, minimal shade and large production of high-protein biomass, Moringa trees are well-suited for use in alley cropping systems.
3. Bio gas : Moringa leaves provide an excellent material for production of biogas.
4. Dye : The wood yields a blue dye which was used in Jamaica and in Senegal.
5. Fencing : A common use of Moringa trees is as a living support for fencing around gardens and yards.
6. Foliar nutrient : Juice extracted from the leaves can be used to make a foliar nutrient capable of increasing crop yields by up to 30%.
7. Green Manure : Cultivated intensively and then ploughed back into the soil, Manure can act as a natural fertilizer for other crops.
8. Gum : The gum produced from a cut tree trunk has been used in calico printing,in making medicines and as a bland-tasting condiment.
9. Honey clarifier : Powdered seeds can be used to clarify honey without boiling. Seed powder can also be used to clarify sugar cane juice.
10. Honey producer : Flowers are a good source of nectar for honey-producing bees.
11. Livestock feed : The high bioavailability of Moringa leaves and stems make them an excellent feed for cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and rabbits.
12. Oil : The seed kernels contain about 40% edible oil, similar in
quality to olive oil.
13. Ornamental : In many countries, Moringa trees are planted in gardens and along avenues as ornamental trees.
14. Plant disease prevention : Incorporating Moringa leaves into the soil before planting seedlings, can prevent damping off disease (Pythium debaryanum) among
15. Pulp : The soft, spongy wood makes poor firewood, but the wood pulp is highly suitable for making newsprint and writing paper.
16. Rope making : The bark of the tree can be beaten into a fiber for production of ropes or mats.
17. Tannin : The bark and gum can be used in tanning hides.
18. Water purification : Powdered seed kernels act as a natural flocculent, able to clarify even the most turbid water.
