Sony have announced their 40-inch KDL-40ZX1, which takes the title of the world's thinnest LCD TV with a thickness of only 9.9mm. Not quite the 0.3mm of their OLED, but getting there. The 1080p set features 120hz MotionFlow technology for better quality fast-motion sequences as well as Sony's Bravia Engine 2.
The set will be available in the standard black and grey as well as bordeaux red and navy blue that aims to emulate the appearance of traditional Japanese lacquer painting. Pricing and country specific availability will be made public in September for a November release.
